Old streetlights made with ionized sodium as material require high-wattage lamps, high power consumption and suffer serious luminance decay, apt to dim after long-time use. Along with rapid tech development, LED has been gradually applied to streetlights and diverse industries for illumination, replacing traditional lighting materials while boasting lower power consumption and better lighting performance. But a large variety of LED lights now available in the market differ greatly in quality levels, often requiring manual replacement when they break down or burn out, with special tools also needed to handle replacement of large-sized LED fixtures. Accordingly, it may not pay to buy ordinary LED lights at cheaper prices, given their invisible maintenance cost increase.

Sunyeer’s LED lights adopted by CHEM eight years ago have so far never been replaced for light decay or breakdown problems, making the Taiwan-based major construction firm particularly confident in Sunyeer’s LED lighting products, leading to massive application of its lights to major domestic engineering projects. Following one year of trial use at MRT Beitou Depot in Taipei, for instance, Sunyeer’s 100W LED road lights have fully replaced the original 400W sodium lights already dimming. This has not only helped Metro Taipei save largely on electricity cost but also make roads in the depot become brighter.
Sunyeer’s LED lights have also been widely installed in Koahsiung MRT depots and as road lights in major industrial zones in central and southern Taiwan based on evaluation reports from their respective professional engineers that the firm’s lighting products, though not the cheapest, have proved more durable and cost effective than counterparts from other major suppliers. In some industrial zones in central county of Changhua, for instance, Sunyeer’s LED lights have remained in good use after serving as road lights there for six to seven years.

In Indonesia, dim streetlights usually add dangers to pedestrians, with 400W sodium lights easily to become dim or dead and having to be replaced often. Five years ago, the Lampung Province authorities, recommended by Sunyeer’s distribution agent there, started to incorporate more than 100 units of Sunyeer’s 100W LED lights for road lighting, which have registered zero-breakdown and no-decay records so far and have saved power consumption by 75%, winning great acclaims from the government and people there. As a result, Karawang City in the province also has been allowed to install Sunyeer’s LED lights at road sections surrounding the residences of city government officials.
Building a pilot green building complex in Vietnam based on high standards
Three years ago, road lights in a Vietnam industrial zone for footwear production were replaced with China-made solar lights at cheap costs, but such lights failed to function well and had to be fixed often. But now after adopting Sunyeer’s newly developed solar street lighting systems, the industrial zone no longer has to rely on city power supply and major international firms operating there have become able to cut carbon emissions. In addition, the zone administration can reduce its lighting maintenance costs and stable lighting available in midnight has sharply improved complex safety.
Sunyeer’s chairman Lin Nan-kuang noted that as green buildings are gaining momentum in Europe, the company hopes to cooperate with Taiwan’s major quality-conscious construction engineering firms such as CHEM and EAK Engineering Consultants & Technology Co., Ltd. to tap the green building market. Lin said that Sunyeer has joined forces to set up a pilot green building in Binh Duong, Vietnam, meeting both LEED and WELL green construction standards. He also disclosed that Sunyeer’s solar lights have also been adopted by Kaohsiung’s Water Resources Bureau and the National Magong High School in the offshore county of Penghu. Lin stressed that his company will do its best to protect global environment by developing more green lights with stable lighting effect and high energy-conservation performance.
