The 2019 Taipei International Sporting Goods Show (TaiSPO) will be held between March 28th and March 30th at Hall 1 of the Taipei World Trade Center. This year 270 manufacturers from 10 countries will showcase their products at 1,400 booths. One of the most anticipated events of the expo is the gathering of numerous leading Taiwanese sports brands. The plethora of products would present the R&D and manufacturing capabilities of domestic companies to the rest of the world. Taiwan-made sports equipment that prospective visitors would expect to see at the expo include Fitness Equipment, Smart Sports, Wearable Device, Fitness Service, Outdoor, Sports Balls, Swimming & Diving, Water Sports, Sportswear, Protective Gear, Boxing Gear, and Racket Sports. Moreover, one of the world’s three biggest cycle exhibitions, the 2019 Taipei Cycle Show, has been scheduled to be held in conjunction with TaiSPO at the same time. Both expos will have a total of 4,720 booths, creating the most comprehensive sporting goods purchasing platform in Asia.
This year, many well known names in made-in-Taiwan sports brands will join the exhibitions. Famous domestic brands such as JOHNSON HEALTH TECH, DYACO INTERNATIONAL, TUNG KENG ENTERPRISE, JOONG CHENN INDUSTRY, INTENZA FITNESS, STRENGTH MASTER FITNESS TECH, CONTINENTAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, SPORTSMAN CORPORATION, SUN OWN INDUSTRIAL, and AROPEC SPORTS CORP once again join the expos as regular attendees. As per tradition, the Taiwan Excellence Pavilion will continue to showcase award winning Taiwanmade products from this year. An initial glance at the products in the pavilion suggests that the future of sports equipment engineering will be centered around personalized customization and comfort, as well as the multi-purpose adaptability and functional flexibility of fitness equipment.
TaiSPO celebrates its 46th anniversary this year. In commemoration of the milestone, the expo has added two themed exhibition areas to showcase the future direction and trend of the sports industry.
Smart Sports Pavilion
The first themed area is led by the Taiwan Smart Textile Association (TSTA), which brings together local companies such as Tex-Ray, Everest Textile, and Makalot Industrial to present Taiwan’s latest advancement in smart sports wear and smart sports wearables. Korea’s DAEJEON TECHNOPARK will also be a part of this area. DAEJEON TECHNOPARK has organized a delegation which consists of startup sports
companies from Korea to participate in the exhibition. Featured products include electric skateboards, electronic support device for golf swing practices, and 4D immersive sports console games.
Fitness Service Pavilion
The second themed exhibition area is led by the Taiwan Fitness Industry Association (TFIA). This area will focus on workout lessons, trainers, sports medicine, athletic training management software, and services regarding scientific sports monitoring systems. Simply put, this area will elevate the expo from a hardware based exhibition to one which also provides state-of-the-art software updates and upgrades. During the expo, attendees will also get the opportunity to experience the newest generation of sports equipment, which TFIA hopes can bring liveliness to the exhibition. Most importantly, TFIA aims to use the exhibition as a platform for future cooperation between companies.
