Pop diva Celine Dion will be making her debut in Taipei in July as part of her Asian tour this year.
The 49-year-old Canadian chanteuse will give two concerts on July 11 and 13 at Taipei Arena, according to Taiwan’s entertainment company Kuang Hong Arts.
The super diva is expected to bring her son during the trip and stay in Taipei for a week before going to her next stop in Manila, local news media said.
Known for her voice behind smash hits such as “My Heart Will Go On,” the theme song from the blockbuster movie “Titanic,” which won her international fame, Dion had planned to visit Taiwan in 2014 but had to cancel the trip due to the poor health of her husband.
Tickets will go on sales from 12 noon on January 22 through Kuang Hong ticketing system at prices ranging from NT$800 to NT$13,800, according to the entertainment company.
Dion’s Live 2018 Asian tour will include cities like Tokyo, Macau, Singapore, Jakarta, Bangkok, and Manila.
The super diva has sold more than 250 million records worldwide and won five Grammy Awards, two Oscars, and seven American Music Awards in the past three decades or so.
Earlier this week in her show in Las Vegas, Dion had proven herself a model of kindness and compassion when an apparently drunk female fan managed to pass the security and made it to the stage where she grabbed Dion and even rubbed up against her.
Instead of having her removed from the stage, Dion treated the invader with grace and gave her a hug and soothing words.
Footage of the incident later appeared online with hundreds of thousands of viewers admiring not only her calm attitude but also her gracefulness.
