Taiwan’s Chinese Television System (CTS) will host the World Cup Night in front of the Presidential Office on Sunday during which members of the public are invited to watch the FIFA World Cup Final broadcast live by the TV station.
CTS, which has obtained the rights to broadcast the last 16 matches of the game through its channel (12) at a cost of NT$30 million since June 30, has decided to host the event to entertain soccer lovers and help promote the sports on the island, according to the TV.
President Tsai Ing-wen is expected to join the special event as a sign of the government support of international sports events.
The World Cup Night will start from 3 pm Sunday with a mini soccer competition, cheerleader performance, hip-hop music, and other shows staged before the big game which will be aired through a 450-inch screen set up by the TV station from 10 pm till the end of the games.
