(Taipei News) The new vanguard of regenerative medicine in Taiwan, Ascension Medical Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (AM BioTech), at its own international marketing strategy conference on January 10, disclosed the unique marketing and technology of its first exosome marketed product “ExoGiov^®”, seize the global tens of billions of beauty business opportunities.

In 2019, the Ministry of Health and Welfare declared the announcement No. 1081601760, “List of Prohibited Ingredients in Cosmetics”, which stipulates that human-derived cells, tissues, and their products are prohibited to be added to cosmetics in Taiwan. AM BioTech enters the international market with ExoGiov^®, a cosmetic raw material that complies with Taiwan and international cosmetic regulations. It is the first company in Taiwan to use exosomes derived from non-human cells and obtain the International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients (INCI) that obeys international marketing regulations for beauty care products. ExoGiov^® can be used in aesthetic medicine, aesthetic SPA, skincare, and health products. Because of its unique product and technology, which is different from other exosome products at home and abroad, it was popular in the international market in 2022, including Europe, Italy, Japan, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), and China have gradually launched marketing cooperation negotiations.

The global market in aesthetic beauty and personal beauty care products of care have been growing continuously in recent years. According to Statista analysis, the personal beauty care product market revenue will reach 528.6 billion US dollars in 2022. The market is projected to grow by 4.64% annually (CAGR 2022-2027). IMARC Group also predicts that the global aesthetic market will reach US$13.9 billion in 2021, and US$24.53 billion by 2027. The compound annual growth rate will be 9.60% from 2022 to 2027, which shows that the aesthetics-related industry is an industry that has grown steadily against the trend in the post-epidemic era of COVID-19.

AM BioTech is going to catch up with this developmental trend, take advantage of the trend, and pave the way for its future regenerative medicine and new drug research and development.

The chairman of AM BioTech, Dr. Ju-Sheng Shieh, said that ExoGiov^® was the exosomes produced by self-developed and patented Bio-Pulsed Technology. It is also screened by using next-generation sequencing (NGS) and quantitative polymerase chain reaction (QPCR) to be suitable for skin care, aesthetics, and hair growth. There are several important features favored by the international market:

• ExoGiov^® is derived from bio-pulsed chicken embryonic mesenchymal stem cells that are of non-human origin and obtained from the eggs with laboratory specifications and Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) certification. ExoGiov^® was also certificated and received the INCI name and that is fully legal and compliant to be used.
• ExoGiov^® was applied and investigated in human cells which were approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of the Tri-Service General Hospital. These results were already jointly published in the international academic journal, International Journal of Molecular Sciences (IJMS).
• The efficacy of ExoGiov^® can reach dozens of times that of ordinary exosomes. For example, the gene expression rate of collagen and elastin can be enhanced by more than 300%, the proliferation rate of skin fibroblasts can be augmented by more than 50%, and the proliferation rate of hair follicle cells can be improved by more than 120%.
• With AM BioTech’s exclusive purification, extraction, and lyophilization technology, the purity of exosomes can be reached 99.99%, and whether they are liquid or lyophilized powder, they can be used and stored at room temperature.

In early March 2023, the “Seminar on the Application of Exosomes in Aesthetics, Skin Care, and Hair Growth” will be organized by AM BioTech and together with domestic academic research institutes and aesthetics-related societies.
